Christian Weight Loss: Therefore There is Now No Condemnation

Sadly, When it comes to Christian Weight Loss, many people will try and use unsavory tactics. They will try and tell us that as Christians we must be gluttons if we are overweight. How sad that they do not realize that there are many causes of overweight besides gluttony. In fact, there are skinny people who are gluttons as well as overweight people. Gluttony is not only a problem for overweight people. There are eating disorders that even skinny people have that cause them to binge and then purge themselves afterward.Would this not be considered gluttony?

Overweight is not always caused by over eating. Sometimes there are health problems such as thyroid disease or problems with metabolism. Sometimes medication which is necessary for certain health problems brings with them the side effect of weight gain. How sad that people are so quick to judge someone as gluttonous without knowing the full scope of that persons problems.

Many Christian weight loss programs will try and tell you that the Bible says that your body is the temple of God and that you should not be overweight because of that. First I would like to say that when Paul said that he was talking to people who were fornicating with prostitutes….Hello, that is not the same context as being overweight!

I suppose what I am trying to say is that we should not let other people make us feel guilty. We should not live our lives in guilt. If we eat an apple or a piece of pie God loves us the same. We need to come to the place where we realize how much God loves us and once we realize his love for us we should consider why we don’t love ourselves the same way.

God is not some glorified Santa Claus in the sky looking down and deciding who is naughty and who is nice. Sadly, the church has picked up much of the poison of the Pharisees and stuck us with religion instead of reality. God is love! He is not a religion that depends on rules and regulations. If He thought we could straighten ourselves up then He would not have had to send His son for us. The Bible says, that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1

Here is a little poem I wrote. If you like it then print it out and stick it somewhere where you can see it daily. (But please respect the copyright of this. Don’t go passing it around to everyone. You can send them here to download it themselves if they wish)

AMAZING GRACE
Amazing Grace How Sweet It Is
To Know That My Redeemer Lives
And Whether I Am Slim or Fat
His Love Does Not Depend on That

For Willingly He Paid the Price
By His Eternal Sacrifice
With Love Far Deeper Than the Sea
Because My God Believes In Me!

No Thing Can Take Away His Love
No Thing Below, No Thing Above
No Thing Shall Move Me From This Place
For I Am Living In His Grace

Amazing Grace How Sweet It Is
And I Shall Ever Be
The Loved and Cherished Child of God
For He Believes in Me

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:1 Christian Weight Loss is all about us seeing ourselves the way God sees us and loving ourselves the way God loves us.

Is Your Lifestyle Making you Fat?

Having you been trying to lose weight and not succeeding? Maybe, it’s not your fault!

While people are quick to point out the obesity epidemic in our nation today perhaps they should consider that it may not be just about our eating habits.

I know from experience that the church are some of the first to complain that Christians are fat due to gluttony and I certainly couldn’t disagree more!

There are many reasons for gaining weight and or losing weight and food intake is not always the only thing we need to look at.

In our modern day and age there are so many time saving devices that we do not get the exercise that we used to get. This can have a detrimental effect on our weight.

Our modern lifestyle has given us many conveniences which can quickly add up to our weight gain every day.

Christian Weight loss is not about making drastic changes in our diets but about learning how to make our daily lives healthy.

It’s not always what you are eating that makes you fat, sometimes it’s a matter of what you are not doing that you did before, or what our ancestors did before.

Think about it!

Which Diet Does the Christian Weight Loss Club Follow?

When people think of a Christian Weight Loss Club many will think that we need to be harsh and legalistic in our eating plans. So the question is asked, “Which Diet Does the Christian Weight Loss Club Follow?”

There are many so called, “Christian Weight Loss Plans” on the Internet and sold as books that will tell you that you need to refrain from pork, or that lead you into feeling guilty and tell you that you are a glutton and that is why you are overweight.

This is very sad, that people who call themselves “Christian” would reduce the word of God to such legalistic practices and it’s a shame that they would make a good Christian feel like the greatest of sinners because they are overweight.

Being overweight is not a sign of gluttony. There are many slim people in the world who can hoard themselves with food and never gain an ounce. I am sure you have seen them and know some of these people personally.

It gets me angry when I see people taking the word of God and trying to ram it down people’s throats and try to pass it off as if God is saying that he hates overweight people!

God says, Judge not and you shall not be judged, so please if you have your comments on how bad overweight Christians are then please keep it to yourself.

We here at Christian Weight Loss Club believe that God died for us while we were yet sinners. He doesn’t love you any less because you are thin or overweight. He loves you just the way you are!

We teach this principal in more depth in our weekly courses so be sure to join our membership once it becomes open to the public.

As far as diets go, which diet do we follow here at the Christian Weight Loss Club? The answer if very simple. NONE!

Why not? Because just the idea that someone goes ON a diet, means that when they have completed their goal they will go OFF the diet. DIETS DON’T WORK

What we recommend is to begin a new healthy lifestyle, one full of the richness of the gifts God has given us to enjoy. This includes, fruit, vegetables, meat….The Bible says we should do everything in moderation, this includes our eating patterns and food choices also.

Presently we have a Christian Weigh Loss Forum set up on another site for those who wish to support each other as Christians. They have a calorie Counter on the Site for those of you who wish to count calories and a place to keep a daily journal if you wish to. If you don’t want to count calories this is okay too. We don’t make you do anything  you don’t want to. You will learn over time with us how to make proper decisions to make healthier choices for yourself and your family.

You must be approved in order to sign up for the forum. The link is here: Christian Weight Loss Club.  This helps us to weed out the spammers who just want to add links for no reason.

Be sure to book mark our site so you can keep coming back for updates, or sign into our RSS feed.

Salad May Not be the Best Choice to Lose Weight

salad

Although most people who are trying to lose weight seem to eat a lot of salad, this may not be the best thing they can do for themselves. Weight Loss is not an easy endeavor and it’s always good to know a few tips and tricks to make losing weight easier.

I found this article on the Internet about weight loss and though you might find it interesting. Check it out for yourselves: Is Salad the Best Diet Food?

Be sure to keep coming back as I plan to add more weight loss tips to help you in your weight loss journey.

After 40 years of diets – why are we fatter than ever? How the diet industry is one big con

Here at the Christian Weight Loss Club, we are firm believers in reinforcing the truth within ourselves that we are fearfully and wonderfully made. No Weight Loss Diet will ever bring about the self-esteem and self-confidence that is already ours in Christ Jesus. It is only by knowing who you are in Christ and following a proper, healthy consumption of our daily needs that there can be any transformation that is true and lasting.

Here is a great article that everyone should read. It talks about the craziness of diet industry and how we need to reconnect with who we really are and learn about proper nutrition, not dieting.

Christian Wieght Loss: What Would Jesus Eat?

I was searching around the internet looking for some Christian Weight Loss tips and I came across a few sites which asked: What Would Jesus Eat?  I don’t know about you, but personally I find that to be a bit strange. What do you think?

Do you really feel that asking yourself “What Would Jesus Eat?” before taking a bite of something is going to be a great enough deterrent to keep you away from foods that are not supposedly good for you?

Shakespeare said, “There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so.” Paul said something similar when he said,” All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.” 1 Corinthians 6:12

We can see from this that Paul is saying that although not everything is good for me, it doesn’t mean that it is a sin to eat certain things. He was also talking about meat offered to idols and said that it doesn’t matter really. If your conscience is clear then eat what you wish, but for the sake of others maybe you should refrain from eating it if it offends your brother.

Asking “What Would Jesus Eat?” is kind of irrelevant. Unless we want to be like the Pharisees and start judging people on what they consume then the question is mute.

If we look at the Life of Christ, we see that he associated with pagans and sinners. The Pharisees did not like this because they thought it was wrong. Jesus, in his day would have been eating mainly fish and bread and leeks and garlic, probably more of a Mediterranean diet than what we consume, but that is only because he was residing in that area. If he lived in America do you think he would be starving himself because we eat a different type of food than the Jews ate?  If Jesus were here in this day and age and he was sitting amongst pagans and sinners, do you think he would refuse to eat a french fry with them?

I think we have enough people trying to lay blame on Christians for what they do without having them feel guilty about what they are eating. Jesus would never condemn us for what we are eating. Judging comes from the Pharisees, not Christ.

If we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us and learn about the love of Christ for us we will bring our bodies into proper balance without guilt trips from so called “Christians” who want us to feel condemnation. [There is] “therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.” (Romans 8:1)

Christan Weight Loss should not be just another way to make Christians feel guilty about what they eat. No, Christian Weight Loss is about people realizing who they are in Christ Jesus and allowing the Holy Spirit to work in their lives so that they realize how much they are truly loved by God. It is the job of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth and He will do His job if we allow Him to.

The Holy Spirit will lead us unto Righteoussness, so don’t let people who want to play Pharisee tell you what you should and shouldn’t eat. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in all things, and remember God loves you, just the way you are. He won’t love you any more or any less if you lose weight. Losing weight is something that will come on it’s own as you realize who you are in Christ Jesus. The Holy Spirit will lead you into healthy eating, but not via condemnation.

Stop listening to Pharisees and start listening to your inner guidance from the Holy Spirit. “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21
